It was a typical Tuesday morning in Florida. Coffee in hand, laptop open, another day of remote work ahead. But something felt different. We looked at each other and asked, “Is this really how we want to spend the next 30 years?”
Why Belize?
We’d been researching Caribbean destinations for months:
- Affordability: Lower cost of living than the US
- English-speaking: Belize is the only English-speaking country in Central America
- Natural Beauty: Beaches, jungles, and the second-largest barrier reef
- Culture: Vibrant, welcoming Caribbean culture
- Climate: Year-round tropical weather
Taking the Leap
The decision wasn’t easy. We had stable jobs, family nearby, and a comfortable life. But comfort isn’t always happiness. We spent months planning, saving, and preparing for this adventure.
